2024 USPA WOMEN'S POLO OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP

On Friday, February 23rd the United States Polo Association played its 3rdWomen’s Open Championship at the National Polo Center in Wellington, Florida. Two highly talented 22 goal-teams squared off on the Main Stadium Field in front of an energetic crowd. Team 90210 members, positions, and goal-ratings were #1-Winfred Branscum-3g, #2-Meghan Gracida-4g, #3-Catalina Lavinia-7g, and #4-Mia Cambiaso-8g. Team Buena Vibra members were #1-Valentina Terazona-1g, #2-Cory Williams-4g, #3-Clara Cassino Seppe-8g, and #4-Milly Hine-8g. The high scoring of this historically significant all-women’s match was bitterly contested down to the last minute of the final 6th 7-minute 30-second chukker of competition. $20 Million 2024 Saudi Cup- White Abarrio - Rick Dutrow - Irad Ortiz Jr.

On Saturday, February 24th, White Abarrio, with trainer Rick Dutrow and jockey Irad Ortiz, are competing to win the $20 Million Dollar Saudi Cup. White Abarrio is favored to win following an amazing year including winning the prestigious $6- Million Dollar Breeders’ Cup Classic thereby making him the best older horse in the country at 1-1/8 miles on dirt. As impressive as his performance is, Abarrio’s path to the pinnacle of current racing elite is equally amazing. And the horses he will be competing against are similarly talented.

He raced successfully under 3 different trainers, and several different owner partnerships. His current trainer, Rick Dutrow, took over the reins during his first year back after a 10-year hiatus sitting out of racing. To date White Abarrio won nearly $5-Million Dollars in purses. A minority stake in the horse was purchased by Prince Faisal of Saudi Arabia, with the race taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Dave Jay is a “Hollywood Horse Trainer” with over half-a-century’s experience in riding, training, and entertaining people aboard his equestrian mounts. He rubbed shoulders with many of the great Hollywood actors and trainers whom he worked with, and many that were themselves Legends who preceded or followed him. We recorded an entertaining 24-minute ONE-on-ONE chat with Dave. His stories are so engaging that we could have easily continued our interview for hours. 2023 HAMPTON CLASSIC GRAND PRIX WEEK 9/03

The climax of the 2023 Hampton Classic Horseshow Week was the 5-Star Longines Gran Prix Show Jumping Championship with international FEI points and a winning purse of $425,000 at stake. The competition was intense with 40 top riders from 12 countries vying for winning honors. The winning competition came down to only 2 faultless riders going head-to-head for a clean ride within the shortest time. Three of the top finishers had previously won this highly contested contest and several other highly decorated former Gran Prix winners and medaled Olympiads were eliminated in a tough first round.
